The Solmetric SunEye 210 is the world-leading tool for on-site shade and solar yield measurements. The SunEye saves time during site visits and provides highly accurate measurements of shading which are critical for yield calculations, especially with roof-top and self-consumption systems. Solar salespeople say the SunEye helps them win more projects by impressing their customers with their care for detail and professionalism.
The SunEye 210 features a digital camera with a calibrated fisheye lens, electronic tilt and compass sensors and an optional built-in GPS. The proprietary software performs digital image processing and calculates the available solar energy precisely for the entire year with just a single measurement that takes less than 15 seconds. An editing function allows removing or adding shading objects to simulate “what-if” scenarios such as the trimming of a tree or new construction. The “Live Survey Mode” allows the user to view the sunpaths on top of the live fisheye image of the horizon and immediately see where the shade-free boundaries are on the available installation area. When the roof has no access, the optional Extension Kit allows to take measurements up to 5,4m in the air... from the ground. The SunEye 210 is then remotely controlled.
Site measurements can be easily transferred from the device to the companion software installed on a PC for further analysis and for printing reports. A couple of clicks will also import the shading data into Solmetric’s PV Designer residential design software or most other PV design software products on the market, including PV*SOL, PVSyst, Archelios, and others.
